Seasons Greetings Varmints

Merry Christmas to you all, faithful Trench-heads!

We end the year with the promise of more dirty treats for you in the next from all here at O.G. We are hard at work on Trenchfoot #4: A Wolf at the Door. This next instalment of the main title features more from the dysfunctional Starlight Squad and their internal squabbling, a closer look at the dark doings of Bob Ketching behind the scenes, and of course more of the grim and mundane from our three protagonists.

In addition, one spectacular back-up feature is confirmed, drawn by the sublime Shaun Amin. More on this secret new addition to the O.G. team in good time.

Not forgetting the next outpouring from the brush of Sam Willoughby, John Voight: Agent of F.L.A.N.G.E. Transvestite Mr. Voight in a tale of revenge upon the aliens that raped his wife. All this madness and more in 2012!

Website Endgame

So here we are, back at the original blogspot address. This is due to the fact our new website is the final stages of development. We can't wait to unveil it at our ogcomics.com address. When we do, you can check out the previews in swanky scrolling viewers, artist bios, character bios, news, contact info, a link to this very blog and much more. All this thanks to the stirling efforts of Charlotte Ratcliffe, web developer extraordinaire. She has pulled out all the stops and it looks amazing, we will announce the launch very soon - don't miss it!

Usually drink, Usually dance, Usually Bubble.

Well Thought Bubble was really awesome! We had a totally amazing time selling comics and partying hard and meeting the comic folk of this fair land. Thanks to all the organisers and the other exhibitors and more thanks to the fine people who bought comics, took flyers or stopped for a chat. Many thanks also to Sam and Jill for coming down and helping out and generally just being beltin' O.Gs.

We are gagging to squeeze out some more vile comics for you in the wake of this and work now commences in earnest on Trenchfoot #4. For more news on that front, watch this space over the festive season. Additional projects in the pipeline are of course the next tie-in, John Voight: Agent of F.L.A.N.G.E. (a mini-series with masterful art from the aforementioned Sam Willoughby), and of course the long awaited Unpaid Intern #2 from that deviant wizard, Michael O'Keefe.

Whilst at the convention, Sam and I managed to get a small amount of work done and we did some drawing on blank copies of the annual. We have three such originals for sale and we'll shortly put some images up for your delectation. We hope you like.

If you wish to order any comics or have any questions or comments about anything we at O.G. are doing, feel free as always to email us at trenchfootcomic@gmail.com.

Biscuity Goodness

Good Morning,

Here are a few treats from The Biscuit Maker, dangled unsatisfyingly like a pate sandwich to a hungry lion maybe, but there you are. Gosh that Willoughby's got talent. If you should wish to congratulate the fine fellow he'll be with the rest of the O.G. team (aka me and Regan) at Thought Bubble in a couple of weeks.
More to come loyal folk, hang tight yeah?

Introducing Mr. Sam Willoughby

Hello trusty readers.

So it's been a while since there was fresh meat in the O.G. stable... that time has now passed. Behold the esteemed Sam Willoughby! (in the form of a tiny snippet from The Biscuit Maker)

This one-shot will deal with a small piece of backstory immediately preceding the events of Trenchfoot #1 and thus the setting and characters should be very familiar to you hardened Trenchlings. Our plan is for a November release so keep your eyes peeled in the shops and latterly at Thought Bubble - 19th-20th November Leeds, Saviles Hall.

We can't wait, can you? We hope so for just a small while longer. More news, snippets, previews, musings and tantalising treats coming your way soon.

Deliverance!

Hello!

Regan here...I just finally got off my arse and learned how to blog, so as to give Gav a break.

Well then, what have we for you? Some announcements? Yes.

O.G. Comics will be at this year's Thought Bubble Comic Convention on the 19th and 20th of November in Leeds. Obviously, there will be many great comic luminaries in attendance, and we will no doubt appear as the grubby, unwashed underdogs that we are, but we thrive best when placed in the harmful path of adversity.

Lots more on Thought Bubble nearer the time, obviously.

Other news? More new titles, obviously:

The Trenchfoot Annual is being slapped into shape as we speak (you can see an amazing panel of Joe Pochiol's art on "The Coming of Aardak" below) and will be available in August. Not sure of the exact page count yet, but it's likely to be 48+, so you get a lot of bang for your buck (and a lot of buck for your bang...what does that even mean?)

BUT...we are not ones to sit on our hands, and even as we speak there are yet another two titles in production:

Trenchfoot: The Biscuit Maker

A direct prequel to the 1st issue of Trenchfoot which focuses on serial homophobe/racist/murderer Kevin McCarthy and the worst day of his life - the day a Polish Gypsy turned him into a Gingerbread Man. A very, very talented new artist is pencilling this one and it promises to be a lot of fun. More as and when...
John Voight: Agent Of F.L.A.N.G.E #1 (of 2)

That's John with an "H", not the famous star of Midnight Cowboy (and biter of Michael Richards' arm). Won't say too much about this one as of yet, simply that it is a direct tie-in to the Trenchfoot universe at large and is all about the fall, rise and further fall of a simple man from the South with a penchant for cross dressing and  a thirst for revenge against the aliens who raped his wife.

So, yes, that is all for now, but I'm sure new and deflated ideas shall come on waves and wings of masturbating angels before the month is done.
Goodnight

Regan

New developments!

Hello dear readers,

A few updates for y'all on what we've been up to the last few weeks:

Most importantly we are still on track to get the monstrous Giant-Sized Trenchfoot #1 out on time for you at the end of July. Still some inking to do on component story, Down to the Well, and we still need Joe Pochciol's The Coming of Aardak but we have extraordinary faith.

Secondly we are in the process of accumulating new artists. We are in talks with a new, very talented comic craftsman to produce another tie-in one-shot for our ever expanding roster of titles. More information on this soon when we have everything signed and sealed.

We hope you will be pleased to hear that the celebrated Daren Cosgrove, with his now formidable momentum, returns from The Blood and the annual with aplomb. We have a new two part story for him which again we will announce officially when we have all the pieces in place - it's really good we promise. Absurd of course, but in the unique manner of the esteemed Mr. Regan, delivers genuine pathos to a darkly bizarre story and characters.

Lastly, and by no means leastly, this very url (www.ogcomics.com) will soon play host to a PROPER WEBSITE (oh yes, you heard correctly...)! My friend and flat-mate, Charlotte, is making us a proper slick, badass website with her mint computer skills. We can't wait. We hope you can't wait either. We will be continuing this blog with a link from it when it's done and it will also act as a comprehensive resource/discussion forum/link machine/gallery for all your O.G. needs. So. Excited.

As always, any questions, submissions, letters or just chatting should be directed to trenchfootcomic@gmail.com, and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

Gavin

P.S. Here's another sneaky preview from Daren Cosgrove's, Love is a Losing Game.

I just couldn't help myself...

I am all too aware of the dangers of becoming repetitive in one's internet activities; but I am just too excited not to digitally crow over our new plan. The Giant-ass Trenchfoot Annual that, as you have heard ad infinitum, is approaching - will have none other than a 50/50 variant cover arrangement!
We saw Daren Cosgrove's awesome pin-up and couldn't resist it's graphic charms, and have thus decided it is cover worthy and we are now plowing ahead with this scheme.

Just a few more of those tasty teasers.

Here are the first two pages of Love is a Losing Game, drawn and inked with panache by Daren Cosgrove. The final printed grey version of that page 2 panel will now sadly look a bit sad compared to Daren's badass coloured one. However we're working out posters and other merch for the annual launch so hopefully that will make an appearance in wall mountable format.

Aargh! Daren Cosgrove and his amazing steez!

We nearly did a little poo of excitement when Daren Cosgrove brought round his pages for Love is a Losing Game today! They are totally awesome.

But...

Even better...

He brought us these coloured versions of one of the panels, and a totally new and awesome pin-up that we are going to make into a bangin' poster for y'all.

Down to the Well

Hello again, dear readers. We have indeed been busy since the last little preview and included here are some pencils and a little inks from the John Trenchfoot origin story, Down to the Well. I apologise for the unfortunately rather crappy quality; these were made quickly from hastily taken photographs so they're a bit grey and so on, but I think you get the idea. There will be more of these very soon. I have finished six of the nine pages of this one and hopefully should have some more developed ink work to put up later today.

In other news, we are expecting the finished pages of Love is a Losing Game  from Daren Cosgrove today so there should be previews of that up next week. Anyway, here are the pencils - I hope they allure and entice.

Cheeky Little Preview...

Copyright O.G. Comics 2011: George Thy Nemesis - Page 5 inks.
This little snippet is the first of many annual previews that I hope to get on here during this coming month of busy-ness. The dastardly Carlton cousins can be seen robbing poor old Calamari George. But what drove these men to commit such a foul crime? Stay with us, faithful reader, and ye shall discover...

Exciting times!

This has been a great week so far for planning and sorting! We are so excited about the annual now, mainly because all four stories are totally happening. Signed and sealed the arrangements with our artists, Daren Cosgrove and new O.G. recruit, Joe Pochciol. We can exclusively reveal here that those stories will be titled thus:

Down To The Well - John Trenchfoot origin story.
Love is a Losing Game - Solar Girl origin story and main plot tie-in.
George Thy Nemesis - Donnell Carlton origin story and future plot tie-in.
The Coming of Aardak - Tie-in, behind the scenes plot extras.

... add to that pin-ups and extra features, and you have yourself one hell of an annual! We absolutely cannot wait. Provisional release date - the end of July. You have been warned!

Yours
Gavin

Hello and Welcome...

As always our commitment is to excellent storytelling, and we hope you will join us for the ride as we roll out the mythos of this fascinating, sordid and heartwrenching tale.

More updates to come very soon...
